Too Good to Stay Away - Salento Again.

Like before, Salento so far has been an excellent hideout in the Colombian coffee region for Maya and I to relax, catch up on some rest and get out to see some of Colombia`s marvelous scenery. After coming here a month ago I knew it was one of those places that I would have to return to with Maya so she could start loving this country as much as I. So here we are. Just like the last time, it`s been raining a lot but this time the valley was totally clear and awesome as ever when we visited. The town itself has been deserted due to the fact that it is midweek and therefore lacks the Colombian weekend trippers; making our time here exxxxtra relaxing. Maya had her first encounter with a troop of friendly Colombian soldiers on our hike up to the valley which she seemed to enjoy quite nicely and they wanted pictures with and yesterday we dined out for lunch and filled up on tasty pink rainbow trout and the fried patacones that we love so much. Tomorrow however we`ll be leaving it behind as we continue our push northward to the Caribbean coast. Next stop Medellin, two decades ago arguably one of the most dangerous cities in the world. Thankfully it is now much much safer...
