Time to leave Moab, and move onto the next phase of the holiday; maybe the one I've been looking forward to the most, St George!

We got up early again, and were in Arches by 6.45am. We wanted to look at North and South Window Arches, which were an easy trail walk of about 1.5 miles from the car. Even at that early hour we didn't have the trail to ourselves, but it was much quieter than it would be later on. We also saw turret Arch, and Io took me on the Park Avenue Trail that he'd done by himself two years ago. I really enjoyed this, he looked after me well! It was nice to hike downhill between the huge rock formations that tower above us.

We drove out of the park, and then stopped so the ids can do their traditional climb up the big sand dune near the road. this sand dune is huge, much bigger than it looks. Lyn joined the kids, and struggled up it, in the 100 degree heat! They had more fun coming down! They were filthy, with red dust!

We got back to the hotel, showered and checked out. I'm sure we'll be back to Mab some day. Maybe we'll do the ranger led Fiery Furnace trail then.

We surprised Cian by stopping at Denny's for breakfast. Hes obsessed by Denny's for some reason. I had an omelette and we tried some Pancake Puppies, which are pancake batter deep fried!

On the road then to St George, with a stop off at Lyn's favourite place Goblin State Park, which we'd visited 2 years ago. The wind and water have sculpted the red sandstone into strangely shaped hoodoos. It's where the Killers filmed their Human video, so of course we had to have that playing on full blast as we drove in! We also passed some fab raod works! Yes, I know, sounds strange, but the road disappeared completely into dust, with no tarmac or markings, just huge swirling mists of dust and huge (and I mean American HUGE) diggers etc.

Goblin was hot. Not just hot, but BLOODY HOT! Lyn disappeared off with tripod and camera, and Tegz Ci and I went off to say hello to the Goblins. Io stayed in the cool of the car! We only lasted about 40 minutes. It was so hot i had to tip iced water over the back of the kids necks when we got back to the car.

It was lovely to get back to St George. As we got parked outside the condo, Cian shouted "We're Home!", and I know just how he feels! WE're back at the same condo as last year, which is in the Las Palmas, Green Valley resort. It's a huge 3 bed condo, with everything! Tegz is like a queen in a king sized bed, with her own full bathroom. The boys have bunk beds and a playstation in their room. Lyn and I have a sort of 4 poster bed, and our own huge bathroom. We have a fab open plan kitchen/living area, with a huge granite breakfast bar, and a cool curved squashy sofa, with a huge stool, so we can all sit with our feet up! We're ground floor, so we have a patio, with amazing views over an empty desert moonscape.

One of the small pools is just across the way, complete with palm trees and jacuzzi. It's usually really quiet, so we never have to get up at dawn and try to bag a sunbed with a towel! It's open till 10pm, so the first thing we did when we unpacked was just hit the pool and chill.............

I am so glad to be here!
