Wow, what a nights sleep! Ioan got up and immediately said he was going back to bed, and Tegz said she had the best nights sleep ever. She slept in a huge, really high bed, with downlights shining down her throughout the night. She looked like a princess when we kissed her while she slept before we went to bed. She said she felt like a princess! Our bed was amazing, it was enormous, with fabulous pillows. Such simple pleasures!

Our new house is lovely. The kids are landed as they have a garage with a telly, their own freezer, a darts board and a ping pong table. Cian is now obsessed with ping pong. They were playing it naked last night! The garage also has a huge washing machine/dryer, so you can guess what I did when we got in.

Lyn is happy as we have 2 huge 50inch LCD tellys, with BOSE surround sound. I'm happy as we've got a fab kitchen, complete with blender for my smoothies, a garbage disposal, and a margarita maker. Shame I don't like margaritas! we've also got a huge kitchen island in the centre with sink, which means I keep thinking the sink should be where the cooker is, (under the window), and I nearly keep throwing drinks over the cooker!

We've also got a hot tub, which was well used last night. It really helps Lyn's back, and he needed it after all that driving yesterday.

We wet out for a little explore last night. We drove down onto the main little strip, if you can even call it that. This is about as far removed from Santa Monica as you can get, which is what we wanted. Morro Bay is a little fishing town, and the beach area looks quite rugged and unspoilt. There's loads of little 'mom an pop' restaurants and shops there. It looks like real small town America, which is great. We'll go down to our local beach later to explore. It's about 5 houses away!

The weather has changed here. We knew it was going to get cooler as we got towards San Fran. (We're about mid way between LA & San Fran). It's going to be cool here, about 20 degrees, so it will be a real shock to us when we get to Yosemite, where it's currently where it's about 32 degrees, and will be even hotter in Vegas where its reaching 42 degrees!

Starting off today by having a chill out. Lyn is trying to import all the photos off the camera which is taking ages. We're going to have thousands by the end of the holiday! Going to have to go food shopping, an have a walk n the beach, but no other plans.

Catch you later for an update.

OK, I'm back now! We did have a good chill earlier, and I managed to add loads of pics to the blog. We went out for a run then, and went about 3o miles up the coast to San Simeon, which is near the start of the Big Sur. We stopped by a view point to look at an elephant seal colony. God, they're huge, and they stink! The bull seals weigh about 2.5 tonnes, that's more than me. Just! We could smell them from inside the car, driving past them with the windows shut! We had our usual Evans crisis when Tegz fell over Lyn's leg, and hurt her thumb really badly. Cue much screaming and crying, but the seals didn't seem to notice.

We drove from there onto a place called Moonstone Bay. Wow. This is the type of beach we like. Wild and deserted. We spent a fantastic hour there, just listening to the waves crashing, and the kids playing in the sea. We all loved it. I'd like to go back there.

From there we drove onto a winery. This part of the California coast is full of wineries. We did a little taster session, and bought 2 bottles. It had to be done! We'll drink them in the hot tub later!

Off to the supermarket for supplies, then back home for a fab BBQ cooked by Lyn as I spoke to my mum using Skype. We had a good conversation considering it was 3am back home! I was able to use the web cam to show her the kids, the house, the steaks Lyn was cooking etc!

I know exactly what you did......
.....when you saw the washing machine, but i keep telling you that this is a family show and you won the bet! If I keep on like this I will end up mentioning the 'L' word and describe you and your friends of a certain 'L' persuasion joining you in a clean up operation :0).

So glad things are going to plan and you are all loving it, loving it :0).

Please tell your husband not to buy anything else electronic or that needs batteries....oops I am drifting again!

It is not fair Lyn buying all this stuff, how can I compete with UK prices lol.

I am loving the photos, but really pleased there are NOT lots of Venice beach muscle hunks on show. But happy if you include some silicon beach babes lol.

All good here, and its still very hot.

Lyn, pace yourself with the driving and keep telling yourself the hot tub is good for your back when the kids have all gone to bed lol.

Safe journey all :0)
