We visited a slum here where Operation Eyesight has been working for a couple years with the focus on prevention of eye care problems through education and improving hygiene. Incredible that some 30,000 people live in this one area straddling the train tracks that would cover a few blocks. Conditions here have improved, but there is much more that needs to be done. While walking across the tracks I noticed a great number of flys and realised that I was walking through an area where people threw plastic bags full of excrement.

On this day we did all things Gandhi: watched the film, went to his museum and went to Birla House where he was assasinated. Posters in this city promote him as the 'man of the millenium' and I am in no position to argue.

"Generations to come, it may be, will scarely believe that such a one, as this, ever in flesh and blood walked upon this earth." - Albert Einstein
