After leaving Paris we headed to the Normandy region for a few days prior to our bike trip in the Loire region. We explored the beautiful coastal towns of Honfleur, St. Malo and Mont St. Michele. Jacques Carier and Samuel de Champlain set off from here to find our home... We had a great Canadian student guide at Juno Beach where 14,000 Canadians landed over an 8 km stretch on D-Day, June 6, 1944. It was quite moving to imagine what it must have felt like as they approached the beach. Incredibily we met a Brit in his 80's at dinner the night before who brought Canadians into shore in his landing craft.

Juno Beach
It is neat to see all the spots we stopped at last ('05) summer. Brings back good memories. Tried the 'andouillette' yet? Awesome photos.
