Xiamen was a typical Chinese city.  It was not very interesting really.  About the only exciting thing that happened took place in a local department store.  We were on the third floor looking for a few things that we needed back on the ship, and Cub couldn't find a bathroom.  We must have asked a half dozen store clerks and none could understand what we needed.  They took us from one aisle to the other showing us everything from toilet paper to toilet bowl cleaner and still no one knew  what we meant.  Finally, while leaving the store, we found one, but it was definitely a close call.  The people were very sweet, but definitely new to the tourist trade.

Wow, if all you did was shop in department stores I pity you. Xiamen is a great place with many interesting things to see. It is not your typical Chinese city infact it is unique. Tourists!!!!!!!!
