Two days later, I was on the set posing as a guest at the International Naval Ball during the "fight scene." There was a lot of standing around between takes, but it was a blast to have my hair and make-up done and watch the crew in action.
The following day, my friend Pete wanted to go on a tour of Dharavi, Asia's largest slum and filming location for Slumdog Millionaire. I felt like I had already seen enough grinding poverty while passing through the streets of Mumbai, but he convinced me that there was something to be gained and it was done in a respectable manner (including no photos)
After Mumbai, the plan was to venture into central India and participate in a 10 day silent meditation course. Well, apparently the program is quite good at this because after calling and emailing 10 times, I never heard anything. I was disappointed, but decided I would go to Goa instead to reflect and recharge.
Since then, I've been living in a little "coconut hut" on one of the quieter, southern-most beaches. I've been taking two classes of intensive ashtanga yoga everyday. Thanks to my energetic and disciplined instructor, I can feel every muscle in my body. I am also starting to feel like a million rupees again. ;)
