Ciao!
Well, i'm here in Rome settling in and enjoying every second. Okay... I had a couple of rough hours today due to a little wine over indulgence last night but other than that, every second has been great!
I'll have to add pics later because this place won't let me use the USB port without paying too much $$ so i'm going to a different one tomorrow.
So we're staying in a great apartment on the 6th floor...no elevator. We have a balcony with a fabulous view overlooking the Campo de Fiore.
Tomorrow someone will be teaching us how to shop in the market and tomorrow evening we'll be getting our 1st cooking class!
So far, we've walked ALOT! We had a 3 hour walking tour/introduction to Rome yesterday afternoon. Today we walked to the university and had a very good lecture on the history of Rome and then after a gorgeous nap, we wen't and sketched the 'most beautiful square in the world' according to our instructor. the name escapes me although i've studied the place extensively. duh. Michael Angelo was the Architect, that I know.
So, after studying so many of these monumental buildings and the history of this city I was a little worried that seeing it in real life might seem a little...monotonous? I can't even put into words how pictures don't do any of it justice. Seeing it in real life is amazing. There is just so much to take in! I'm so glad to be here!!
The food is delicious! Speaking of which i'm starving after a looong day! Maybe I'll have lasagna again this evening. YUM!
Well, I think I have to go now. Almost out of time... it's raining and the girls are about ready to go. We have a very long walk back to the campo.
I miss everyone at home and wish you all were here to enjoy it with me!

Jealous!
It sounds like such an experience! I guess I'm not too surprised about the wine indulgence - that's my baby.
I'm glad Rome is living up to your expectations. Be sure to take lots of pictures, even though they can't compare to the real thing.
