From there we circled the park and found the road up Cadillac Mountain. You have to drive a long ways up the mountain but the view is spectacular. by this time it was after one and we were getting hungry so we headed down to Bar Harbour and got some lunch, sitting on the grass in the park, where we had sat three years ago when we were on a cruise. We did some shopping around the town and then came back to find the wifi was not working in the campsite and to top it all off, the tv reception was gone. We got new neighbours next to us with a 36 foot fifth wheel.....they make us look so small. They had 2 Yorkie dogs with them and two very large parrots. They bought the big trailer so they could take the birds with them. You find everything when you go camping!!!!!Temperature got to 84 degrees and it is suppose to go to 90 tomorrow. The people from Maine say this is very unusual.
Woke up to beautiful sunny weather, got ourselves together and off we went to Acadia National Park. First you go up to the information centre and get your pass and then there are many loops to take and see so many different things. We deceided to do the main loop today so off we went to the first stop, the sandy beach. Most of the beach areas around here are rocky and steep but this is the only one in the park that has sand something like Long Beach on Vancouver Island. You couldn't take dogs on the beach so we carried her down and let her feel the sand. The waves were crashing in and a few people were already claiming their spots in the sand. From there we went to an area where, when the waves are large, it forms a large blow hole, but the sea was too quiet to perform for us. We have seen pics around here of when the sea performs and it reminds me of hawaii. Then we went to Joshua's pond, where they have a lovely tea house and once it is open, they have tea out on the grounds.
