From the Castle we walked down to the Charles Bridge. The walk was beautiful, passing shops and hill side vineyards. It was all downhill as well. We were asked to bring our performance clothes for our final concert later in the day, so I brought them in my little rolling suitcase
After crossing the Charles Bridge, which spans the Moldau River, we walked to the Old Town square for lunch. We saw the procession of apostles that accompanies the hourly tolling of bells at the Astronomical Clock and heard the trumpet player give his hourly fanfare. I had some Czech goulash for lunch and then we were off for our final concert at St. Nicholas Cathedral. We performed a teaser on the steps of the church and then gave our concert. The church was beautiful, yet again. I can't seem to get over how many of these places exist here. The audience was very enthusiastic, and the ushers had to turn people away because there was no more room. The choir performed very well.
After the concert, we had the afternoon free before dinner. On the way back to the hotel, we came across a theater promoting an aria concert that afternoon. It featured the works of Mozart and was accompanied by a woodwind trio for whom the orchestral parts had been transcribed
Dinner was at the same restaurant that we at lunch at, which was fine by me. The food and the company were fantastic. The day felt very long, and at the end of it I was quite happy to be back at the hotel and resting for the last full day in Europe.
