I finally got off my lazy butt and climbed Flattop. The trail was packed of course- even in mid afternoon. As I started out, a huge bull moose grazed on a tree below me. But as I had left my super zoom lens at home, I felt that snapping a photo with my digital would probably not do much justice. So I let him be.
The trail was relatively easy, which I thought was surprising. Once you get to the upper sections, there are a few stairs and then there's a short section that is steep and requires scrambling. The views up top- great! You can see the Chugach range, Anchorage, and Cook Inlet. Nice, heh? And it was warm! Warmer than it ever got last summer!
That's about all I have to say for this... because it's a backdated entry and I'm writing this months after the fact just so I can put my few Denali pics up in the next entry.
