I arrive in the night in Bijapur, a city with 300.000 people and I already blame myself for the decision of changing charming Badami to Bijapur. I am tired and annoyed by the typical noises of Indian cities. I need a rest. Take the closest hotel I can see just to recognize that the mosquitos inside will have their great party with me. It is not only the itching stitches, but I am also nervous because of the fact that lots of regions here are suffering Malaria. I do not know anything special about Bijapur but I get out of bed again to buy some insect protection.

8am. Awake by the noises of passing by busses and rickshaws I get up and make myself ready to discover the city.

After all, I am happy that I went to Bijapur. The city was the capital of a former kingdom and lots of huge Mosuleums, Mosques and ruins of buildings proof this. It is exciting to wander through the streets seeing these enormous buildings while children, pigs, dogs and cows are still around. Check out the pictures for the amazing Golgumbaz, Ibrahim Rouza or Malik-e-Maidan! It was fantastic!!!

After all I decide to make a break. A break at a haircutter in the streets. He not only gives me a haircut but also a very good and long face massage. Altogether: 60 Rupees (a bit more than 1 Euro)! I will never get used to the prices of my own country anymore...
