Spent one night in Melaka, did a whistle stop tour round the city which took all of an hour since it is quite a small place!

Melaka used to be the main trading port for South East Asia, and has had Dutch, Portuguese and British Colonial rule and this influence can be seen reflected in some of the architecture in the old town of Melaka.

When we visited it was Chinese New Year so most of Chinatown had shut up shop, but we still had a stroll round and were kept up all night by fireworks celebrating the New Year!
