Well another day of great golf. Grand National Lakes course was another great test and a lot of fun. The course was a little bit shorter and tighter but beautiful and fair. It was a bit of a tale of 2 nines - I had a good first nine and Dad was again hot on the backside. The day was highlighted with the 1st Eagle of the tour. I sunk a 35 foot twisting put after a fine drive and a good long approach to the par 5 4th hole. The day started out as always with a lazy morning including breakfast at the hotel and we had to pack up and to head on out to Dothan and Highland Oaks Course for tomorrow.  Grand national was so much fun I hope that the long trip to Dothan will be worth the drive. It was the longest of the trip (almost 3 hours) - I am not sure that the Hertz Never Lost Girl sent us in the best way we ended up traveling all the way into Montgomery before heading south to Dothan - anyhow we are getting to see the whole state and the road are good and easy to drive.  Dothan seems to be a good sized town with a lot of building and growth signs - new Target, Home Depot, Best Buys and the like. We have know idea what is driving all of this growth in this part of the state. We asked the waitress at Calastoga Steak House ( not bad - average steak and fair prices) what industry they have in town and all she could come up with was peanuts... not sure that is behind all of the growth - we will let you know if we find out more tomorrow.

Responding to a number of requests here are the weather details and other food tips.

Weather Info for Today - Temp 80 to 85, partly cloudy, Humid, - don't know the barometer or anything else - it was a nice day and they gave us some wet towels - what more could you ask for, the cart girls we generally on time and well stacked - oops - I stocked.

Restaurant Update -  Christopher's in Opelika is fantastic - great food and an exceptional value - its not to be missed when playing the Grand National - recommend the 22 oz rib eye - heaven comes to mind.

Calastoga Steak House - a local favorite but fine dinning hasn't come to Dothan yet. OK  steak at a fair price - not fancy but will do - better than the chain restaurants.

Hope that every one is well and keep the responses coming - Kathy sorry we didn't fill you in that we were going to Auburn - would have liked to get a better tour of the camps than our drive through. - Jackie - sounds like it was fun yesterday at the pool - keep an eye on my girls.
