Let the games begin. Dad and I had a great first day. We got off to lazy start this morning. It was great to be able to sleep in after the day we had yesterday. The course was 10 min drive from the hotel and it was great. It is in a beautiful area with lots of trees and rolling hills. There are no houses or development around the course so it was quite peaceful and you didn't mind getting your but kicked because it was beautiful. The names of the nines - Backbreaker and Heartbreaker are just a tough as their names imply (it's rated as one of the 25 toughest course in the US) . Every green was elevated and full of mounds. I seemed to get the worst of it around the greens and was always having to ask Dad to stand in the direction of the flag so I could pitch up. We played ok, not great,  but no big blow ups and only lost a few balls between the two of us. In Fact by Dad's standards a great day as he found 5 balls and only lost one so he was plus 4 for the day.  It was a beautiful day and the course was empty enough for us to play as a twosome and get around in just over 3 hours so all in all a great first day on the course. We only played 18 as we got a late start and it worked out well as we had a two hour drive down here to Grand National. We stopped at the local market and got a cooler and a bunch of green tea ice tea and set off on our way. It was a beautful drive and we are getting a great sense of the state as we go from course to course. The aera around Silver Lakes had a lot of rolling hills and wood and as we got closer to the Auburn aera it turned to more open space and farms and hills. More of what I had though the state would be like. The driving is easy we just put or fate in the Hertz never get lost GPS system and punch in the address and off we go. We don't turn until she says and follow her lead. I have faith in the system but Dad seem a little worried as we set turned off on to those 10 miles or so of dirt roads but I had faith. If you ever need to get rid of a body we can help. We got here and the hotel is very nice and the golf couse looks great so tommrow should be another great day.

Love to my girls- Kimi, Sami & Kathy, and to my boys Teemu and now Chester. - will write more tommorow.
