For the New Years weekend I went to visit some friends in Chungzhou and on the 3rd we went to visit Suzhou for the day.  It was a quick ride on the fast train.  Once we got out at the station we were mobbed by people trying to sell day tours of the city.  We found a tour we liked for about 130 CNY.  Suzhou was the capitol of China at one time and is famous for silk and gardens.  We visited  two different gardens took a boat ride in the canals around the city and we ended the day at a pagoda.   

We also visited a small place that had explained how silk was made.  They also sold items made of silk.  The tour went to a place were they talked about teapots and then you could buy some teapots.  Most of the teapots I found out were made in Yixing.  Suzhou is a nice place to visit, but since it was winter the gardens weren't as nice.
