Margaret and Peter took me to meet with one of the farmer groups the work with. It was a beautiful place with regular plantings of cashew, neem and mango in a grid of coconut palms. The problem is the slashing and burning under the trees to grow annuals. The soil is fading and the cashews are now becoming diseased. We all sat in a circle and introduced them to some old new ideas, permaculture from me and basic organic economics from the SACDEP reps. We all enjoyed each other's company.

Margaret and I have been having fun talking about life and the ills of the world. She has many great resources I have yet to look into.

It finally rained.

A delegation of Kenyan ministers of parliament died in a plane crash on their way to calm tribal war in northern Kenya. Politics is dangerous.
