The camp ground at the hot springs was excellent. We got the best spot because we were there so early. There were date palms feeding us dates, and the kitchen and bathrooms were pretty plush. We set up camp and got in the hot pool (the actual spring is at about 140 degrees F). It was totally incredible.
We took a plant walk along the Fish River, splitting into two groups of three when a couple of us wanted to get back to camp
In our first circle, we shared our visions and expectations for the trip. We took another dip in the hot pool, under a bright desert night sky and peeled our acorns. Once peeled Frank soaked them in the hot hot spring over night, and we roasted them in the oven the next morning.
After breakfast, we packed up and headed to Fish River Canyon - the second largest canyon in the world, just smaller than the Grand Canyon - and continued north.
