We had good weather for the drive to Denver. Our only stop was [apparently] the only open business in Blanca, CO. It was the most well stocked mini market I have ever seen. Besides all the usual stuff, they had gourmet canned goods, a deli and free tables, liquor, hand blown glass pipes, and movie rentals. We bought Trader Joe's pumpkin seeds at a bargain and a big jar of Castelvetrano olives.
We made excellent time and visited Park Meadows Mall where Annie wanted to spend her Athleta gift certificate. We played putt putt in Dick's Sporting Goods and checked out their fishing selection. When it was time to go, we were asked if we would like a free sample of green tea. If you ever receive this offer from one of the mall kiosks near the food court, it is best to just decline, unless you like discussing the purchase of tiny packets of flavored, instant green tea.
We made it safely to our home stay, ordered takeout veggie noodle bowls from New Saigon Restaurant and prepared for our early morning taxi to the airport.
Big shouts out to Mussie, the most amazing Denver rush hour taxi driver ever and Yodit G. for setting us up with him. Huge ups to Mark. W. for letting our car sit in his driveway for two months. (The free park & ride has a 30-day limit. The next cheapest option would have been over $200.) And more huge ups to Ali, Ana, and Bernie B. for excellent hospitality, playtime and accommodating our veggie noodle bowl cravings.
