We said goodbye to Moncton, NB this morning. There sure are a lot of trees in New Brunswick, as I mentioned earlier. Seems the whole province is one big wood lot and every so often there is a clearing with a city or town in it.
I knew BC had a lot of trees - maybe I never really noticed them? or maybe it's because they are up the slopes of mountains in BC and not covering the gently rolling hills of the Maritimes.
Don't get me wrong, I certainly don't mind the rolling hills. It is very nice to just drive along the highway as it meanders over hill and dale.
Oh, and I must retract my statement about nice highways in New Brunswick - they are nice - there are lots of them, but they have pot holes after the winter that you could lose your vehicle in
We stopped in the Tourist Bureau at the top of the hill behind the Welcome sign to pick up some literature. We were both interested in driving along by the Bay of Fundy but after asking about the roads, and what there was to look at as you drove to the seashore, (the answer was TREES), we decided to stay on the main highway. The trees in Nova Scotia looked decidedly like the trees in New Brunswick and we saw enough of those yesterday!
We decided, after all, that we could always come back and have a look at any of the areas we have driven past - nothing is that far - not like BC (a much bigger province!)
When we arrived at the Nova Scotia border, the roads improved dramatically! I think I noticed one bumpy bridge and maybe three potholes on the main highway until we got to our turnoff! Good on ya, Nova Scotia!
