hey all
yesterday got to visit the surfs museum which is one of the tourist attractions i wanted to see
and a bonus of staying here is and which is why im so grateful for being able to stay here is the fact i can get around to anywhere
the surf museum which sal and i went to was 7km out of the main city, so if i was staying in the hostel it would have taken a while to get there
awful weather still but least there was no sever floding lie friday night
the surf museum was an expereince, mainly because th eman that owns it, who is scott who was one of the first erv australians to take hold of the sport
Scot was 83 old man lovely guy who did give us a guide and tell us anything we wanted to know about surfing
it was actulay in hawaii the sport started in the early 1900's but australia took it from the early 1930's
scott used to make surf board and also start to compete in compeititons
we saw many balck and white phots from his era
w also saw photos of the men who started up the big surf brands, i.e. billabong and quiksilver, scott knows them!!
apart from that gory crocoldile stories, shark encounters too the museum had so many different surf boards too!! my fave was made fromt he 80;s by scott, he explained how to make them too
pretty interesting if you are inot surfing!
then drove to the plaza main shopping centre, aus have a lot of them
then i prepared roast dinner!! yes i can cook!!
then watched a movie awesome cosy night in, i do miss wathcing movies evry now and then

today went for a walk around the streets, ye you can get lost easily around the streets in aus everywhere looks the same!!! most aussies live in large bunglaows ive noticed, they look small on the oistide but when you get in they are huge!!
then sally drove us to see the big banana, one of the major tourist attractions in coffs harbour
the banana was opend in the 1960s to try and bring in tourism, it did unitl the banana plantaitons wre no longer succesful
then jetty jumping of the main jetty good fun
then came back and introduced the family to chilli con carne, they had never had it before!!
journey to port maquerie tomorow here comes the train again, and the bus connection too!!
