Where I stayed
the train to coffs was not too bad, though 60minute delay so a bit of a pian, but not in any rush all good!! plus im loving the train its si much cheaper than the bus, its half the price of the straight forward coach down the coast, even though it takes longer i really dont care!!!
first of all let me explain where im stayng
ive moved onto coffs harbour and im staying round a house belonging to librarian called Julie.
right where did i meet julie you are wondering
i met julie of the website called 'couchsurf' noones really heard of it unless youve travelled in the last 5 years or so, i found out about it from the gap convention in may i wnt to but didnt think nothing of it, then cass in cairns didit and recommended it to me, becuase at the end of the day its a great way to the se the town you are going to, meet and live with an australian family!! it costs you nothing where hostels do!!!
so there you go, along with the interent along came couch surfing!!
im having a great time its ben fantatsic fair enough the internet straight away can be dodgy, but its smilar ot house swap, its about trust, and overall most of the time its safe!!
julie has ben great evr since she said she would let me stay, she picked me up from the station
introduced me to hre 4 cool teenager kids, like being at home!! older son christopher, then sally shes 19, andy 15 and melanie 13
straight away settled in, the weather in coffs not so great, actualy parts of NSW have experienced flooding and coffs was no exception last night'
erm nt such a good night to learn how to drive an automatic car if you havent drove for 4 months!!!
its been a great last two days here, julie has let me into her family and everyday life!! watching movies, chilling out and also a plus is how chris and sal are similar age to me ive had a chnace to hang out with people similar ag to me, it flet like bein back home in woodham, some of chris;s friends reminded me of mates back home :)
after seeing a view of the harbour on friday when i arrived wicked view, coffs habrour you can tell attracts tourists because its just beautiful!!
fortunatley because the flood wayers had gone down, though the flooding n coffs this year has ben the worst in ober 500 yearrs, today ventured inot town with sally and got to meet one of sals friends caled lizzie, then went to a superstore electric store very different to englands i think just the layout and evrythin!
then had a chance to try australian chips, yep they do beat englands chippies by erm milessssssss!!!!!!!!!! how they cook thme and what they cook them in so good!!
also to see an australian pub, ye english old fashion pubs still are the best for me to have a drink in, but it was great to socliase in and to see what it was like
