we arrived in Livingstone, stayed at the grotto , had a free hair cut by Jen the heats done dameg trust me, named after the great voyager in the ealry 19th century 'sir david livingstone' after being introduced to the adrenlin rish activities you can don in vic falls yesterday was a day to view one of the 7 natural wonders of the world!!!
The falls are a new formation in Geloigical terms as they were formed a million years ago as the riveer zambexi took its course through
the falls were well known to the native peopels but it was in 1855 livingstone gave the 1st description of the beaufil wonder to peopel of the western world.
The falls have glorious forests and tress behind which the animals thrive in!!
the falls are 1688m wide on average 199 m in height
in the wet season 750 million litres of water cascade over the gorge evry minute
the water can be interupted by islands which have formed such as the big horseshoe and the rainbow island
the falls differ in dry season and wet, i saw them in the dry so the pictures you see with pure white cover of water was not actually there yesterday when we saw them
but im you go acorss to the zimbabwer side you can still se the whole falls in full glory
a girl on tour named helen saw the falls in May when she was volunteering and there the falls were in full glory in Zambia
it varies around the year
Today was one of the first ever adrenlin activities ive ever done!!
today at around half 10 Bungee time!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
about 9 of us from the truck did the task, some had done it before, but i hadn tand neither had steve and abbey
the 3rd biggest one in the world from the bridge whihc connects Zambia and Zimbabwe!!, and after coming down from the builidng where you sign a contract tom and i saw how high we were up from the bridge and how high the gorge was, thats when the nerves kicked in!!!
but the nerves i got were thorugh the gate and they tell you to put you feet over the edge after youve been strapped in and get ready for the jump, i coudlnt stop shaiking!!
but the adrenlin rush and feeling of free falling is immense and i would so do one again!!
no one bailed out and we all loved it
the gorge swing was way more scarier!!!
but the whole thing is quite cool and you swing into the Zimbabwe counrty,so techniquley youve been to Zimbabwe when you swing!!
