Had a crazy day. Started out with no hot water at home. Marie, my host mom, decided to try to fix it. So she stood on the bathtub with a kitchen knife, stabbing at the shower head for about 45 minutes. She finally got it fixed and I went to take a quick shower (I was meeting a friend and had to go...he was actually already at the house waiting for me and I left him talking to my host mom in Spanish). However, after 2 minutes, the water was ice cold. So, I got out...luckily didnīt have to keep Jan waiting of long!

We got in a taxi to head to town and the driver drove for a bit and then pulled over and took a CD out of the glove compartment, saying he had music, just for us. Put on some special music and then continued to drive. A few minutes letter he asked us if we knew about īdiosīand handed us some material about his church and god and started talking to us about Dios. It was crazy. Of course when we got to the usual traffic corner in town and the beggars came up to the window, he stopped and looked for change. He couldnīt find any and we missed our turn to go in the intersection. It just wasnīt my day. However, we did eventually make it into town!

Of course, once there I realized that I had forgotten my notebook and so was unable to study, as was the big plan. Oh well.

Went out for lunch with Liliana, a friend of my Lima friends. She took me to Bembos, Peruvian McDonalds. It wasnīt bad. Had a bacon burger, french fries, and an Inka Cola. Felt a little nasoues afterwards...just like how I would feel after McDonalds.

I am continually surprised by how few accidents I see here. It is amazing to me that there are these huge intersections with no stoplights or stop signs or anything. I donīt understand how they do it. Iīm definitely glad not to drive here! I think there were more stoplights in Siem Reap than there are here!
