I have made it to Lima without any problems. Landed on time (5:30 am) and found a taxi to Cristina and Vivianaīs apartment (Margies extremely gracious friends). I arrived at their apartment at 6:30 and woke Cristina up (about 3 hours before she had to go to work....extremely gracious!!) But we both went back to sleep. I slept a while and then went out with Viviana. I went out for a delicious ceviche lunch with her and her friend at a restaurant called El Begote. I was a little nervous about having ceviche for my first meal in Peru but I did not get sick.
After lunch Viviana went home and I spent some time wandering around in Lima. Wasnīt exactly sure where I was but I had directions on how to get back in a cab. Might try to brave a bus but they look pretty scary.
Went to some huge mall, Larco Mall with a beatiful view of the ocean. Wandered through some artisan shops, went to Kennedy Park and talked to some little girl (she didnīt understand why I couldnīt talk to her very well and her mom kept explaining that I didnīt speak spanish but she didnīt quite get it!) The weather here is great. Apparently itīs not usually like this at this time of year so I guess Iīm lucky!
