We hadn´t planned to stop in Mendoza, but as we were going from one small town to another, we were forced to. Luckily there was a nice hostel right across the road from the bus terminal.

As we had only a few hours there, there isn´t much to report. However, there was one memorable incident worth writing about.

We walked around the corner from the hostel to a parrillada to get another great mixed grill. As usual, there was a hungry stray dog moping around looking for some tidbits, or doing the puppy-eyes thing to the patrons sitting outside. After I had finished a piece of steak, I threw the fatty, grisly leftover bit into the curb for him to eat. Ray, also, wanted to give the wee thing some food, so a couple of minutes later he threw it some scraps too. As I watched the trajectory of the piece of meat, I thought - Ray, what are you doing!? Throw it AWAY from the people you dufus! But it had left his hand wrong, and instead of ending up in the curb, it ended up hitting a lady who was sitting across from us and then settling on her seat next to her but. How embarrassment! I was just dying, and of course, Ray was trying to apologise profusely whilst containing his laughter. The lady was not amused and did not accept his apology gracefully.

Like I said, the only memorable thing to come out of our ten hours in Mendoza.
