We're in Coolangatta today!!

Southeast Coast Forecast District.

Issued at 1:32 pm Friday, 22 February 2013.

Synoptic Situation:
At 1pm AEST Friday, a low pressure system was located off the northeast New
South Wales coast, about 160km east-southeast of Coolangatta, and was moving to
the southwest.

The low is expected to cross the northern coast of New South
Wales later this afternoon.

Damaging winds, with peak gusts of up to 90km/h are possible this afternoon
about the Gold Coast and the southern Border Ranges.

Winds are expected to ease
during this evening.

Dangerous surf and beach erosion is no longer expected to continue along the
exposed coast between Cape Moreton and the New South Wales border. However surf
conditions will remain rough along exposed beaches south of Cape Moreton.


Emergency Management Queensland advises that people should:
* Move your car under cover or away from trees.
* Secure loose outdoor items.
* Seek shelter, preferably indoors and never under trees.
* Beware of fallen trees and powerlines.

For emergency assistance contact the SES on 132 500.

The next warning is due to be issued by 7:35 pm.
