Apart from a five and a half hour ferry trip and a late night run up the motorway, we're finished.
By the time we're home, we've done about 4100 miles, averaging 40 mph and 49.5 mpg. We've spent near on £500 on fuel and it's been great....
We've been touring roof down since the rain stopped in Porto about six weeks ago and the car is an absolute mess. Flies, salted up windows, rubbish inside, everything. But it was all worth it. It's going to take a week to get it sorted but it was worth every bit of it.
If you've been reading the blog all through - and if you have, I thank you - you'll know that there have been loads of highlights from great driving roads to stunning architecture to being made welcome by family and friends.

We spent an hour yesterday (Saturday 13th) at Telford Hospital's A&E in which time Jane was triaged, booked in, reviewed, xrayed, consulted, treated and booked in for a further appointment. I've never been in and out of a hospital anywhere near so quickly - fantastic!
The downside is that they confirmed that Jane broke her arm six weeks ago - despite what the South American doctor in the Portugese hospital said! So that's put her back six weeks. Heyho...
