36 hours on a ferry doesn't sound particularly appealing but I have to say that it was actually very good.

The ferry was nicely turned out.  There was a fine restaurant on board (where we had a brilliant steak), they served ice cold "wife beater" and the Bay of Biscay was "as a millpond!"

Couldn't have been better.

We docked in Bilbao at 6.45am and were just about the last car off the ship.

And my recent holiday weather streak continued - it was raining.

"Drive on the right, Drive on the right", I told myself as Tom took us into Bilbao proper for the Guggenheim museum/gallery.  Got there a treat, parked up and took it all in.

There were a couple of displays that grabbed my attention, one a metal maze built in three dimensional curves, but to be honest the exhibition of "art in wartime" didn't do much for me....

Nice building - but a touch dated even after only 15 years...

And then Tom guided us out West towards our first scheduled campsite.  It was still raining....

Becks on

Hope the weather picks up for you, but you did choose the run up to a Bank Holiday weekend to embark on the adventure so only yourselves to blame, I'm afraid...!
