Trying to adjust to the late nights, later dinners - usually 11pm and being lazy by day. Im eating soo much, atleast 1 guarana, 1 acai, 1 coxinha each day just as refreshments, then comes the pizzas, garoto chocolates, feijoada, churrasco and tonnes more.
We went to a cool reggae night high on a hill with a great view of the city, vip ofcourse, Felipe featured in one of Mandala Roots songs.
This week Brazil celebrated Valentines Day "Dia dos namorados", so we made an adventure trip to a fascinating little town 1 hr bus ride out of Vilha Velha
Aunty and Uncle took us for a road trip in their new car to a long surf beach about 40 minutes up the coast. Beautiful beach with only a handful of surfers on the fun little waves. Haha and my Uncle surfs too!
We took the bus through centro which is a little drab, had good shopping where we bought a gift give to Uncle and Aunty to say thanks for having us, who mind you - dont want us to go! Bought our train ticket to Minas which should be interesting.
My new Uncle is a Pastor and we went along to one of his church sessions which was full of excellent quality music, fantastic guitar playing and singing, and as a new person to the church, Uncle had to embarass me and introduce me over the mic, as his new sobrinha (niece) and he asked a lady who speaks English to welcome me along by introducing herself and giving me a hug. This happens every session for new comers.
Just enjoying the Brazilian way of life, not a care in the world, no concept of time, sleep is not necessary, work isnt really that serious and the crazy fast bus rides are the highlight of the day!
Enjoying grazing over fresh rolls, cheese, ham, fresh fruit, coffee and toddy for breakfast with the family.
We are off to Minas tomorrow on the train, looking forward to the ride.
