We are joining the tour group today and we getting on a bus and heading north. Bangkok has been fun but I am ready to see the rest of this beautiful country. On the bus we got to know our fellow tour members. Cory and I are by far the youngest. There is a group of about 8 or 9 that have come together. Somehow they know one another through a Methodist church group. We all introduced ourselves and told a little about ourselves.

Our first stop on the bus tour through Thailand was the ruins at Ayutthaya. Nok gave us a some of the facts about the temple grounds and then allowed us to wander off on our own. Cory and I enjoyed seeing the Buddhas wrapped in saffron robes. Some of them missing their heads. The stupas, though damaged, were beautiful. There are so many beautiful historical sites in Thailand but honestly we didn't learn that much about them in our art history courses in college.

Nok explained the big bells of the temple and had some fun with teaching us.
