So far.... Not so good.

We were packing and getting ready for our departure early tomorrow and as I always do, I checked our flights. That is when I found out that our flight had been canceled. We dialed the 800 number.
After navigating the phone tree and waiting on hold for a very long time we finally reached a live person in a call center somewhere. Judging by his accent I would say that he was somewhere in India. They were not going to get us on a plane until 3 pm on the 9th which would cause us to miss our flight to Korea, and because of that, Thailand.
They were saying that our 7 am flight to JFK was canceled due to weather but that they could get us on a 7:40 flight to Laguardia. Now I don't know about you but how can a airport 15 minutes away not have the same weather problems. The poor guy on the phone is just one of hundreds in little cubicles that answer phones and read the information off of computer screens.
Somehow in the process of explaining that JFK and LaGuardia would be suffering from the same weather we got off track and he said that he could get us on a flight tonight. They said that they wouldn't pay for a hotel but it would be cheaper for us to find a hotel and get out of dodge than lose our whole package to Thailand. So we sped up the packing process and got a last minute ride to the airport.
We got to the airport and it was a mad house. There were hundreds of people that were in the same boat as us. We waited in line for 3 hours until we got to the desk. We finally got to talk to a gentleman named Michael Fox. He was a manager and he worked with us for some time but he was able to get us a flight then next day at 7:40 from LaGuardia. He also arranged for a transfer voucher from LaGuardia to JFK. He thanked us for keeping spirits up in line. We really didn't do that much except remain calm and rolled with the punches. Truly what else can you do. It isn't the fault of the hourlies working in that madhouse. I have to say I am not convinced that it is weather that canceled our flight since we are flying out of an airport only a few miles away at about the same time. I personally have never seen weather, other than Eeyore's little black cloud, only precipitate on one building.
We got a ride back home and now we are going to try to get a few winks before leaving for the airport again!!!!!!
