Disneyland Layover
Disneyland Layover
Today we arrived on time at LAX and headed right to the rental car desk. I don't know what we were thinking but we didn't think about the rental car company being away from the airport. We hadn't met up with Jeremiah yet and we didn't know if he would go ahead and take the shuttle to the rental car place or if he would wait there at the airport. We took our chances and took the shuttle in. We started the process of renting the car and by the time we had the keys Jeremiah had arrived.

The map that we had printed was right from the airport so we had to figure out where exactly we were. Once we got our footing it was right to Anaheim. Disneyland and California Adventure were going to be a great way to pass the time of this long layover.

We started off in Magic Kingdom. We were being totally silly practicing our Mandarin. The Chinese languages are so different than what we are used to. I had pulled some phrases off of the Internet and practiced for weeks. We even joked about being in China.

Jeremiah had gotten some Valium from his mom so he could sleep on the plane . She had freaked out and said that he needed to take it on the flight to China because she was afraid he would get arrested in China and end up in a Chinese prison. I don't know. I guess it was typical motherly paranoia.

We had a great day and rode everything we could get on. We decided to go on the huge ferris wheel at California adventure. We were in a little caged car and the thought occurred to me to video us being silly. Laughingly I said, "we had a little problem, they found Valium in Jeremiahs luggage and we have been arrested and put in a Chinese prison" I figured it was something that we could tease Jeremiahs mom with later. As the car started to rise Jeremiah blurts out "I don't know how I feel about heights" Fear that previously wasn't there washed over me.... Before I knew it both Jeremiah and I were hysterically laughing. It wasn't a joyous, I'm having a great time laugh. It was a, I'm about to lose my mind, kinda laugh.
Jeremiah says "I think I would rather be in a Chinese prison" Poor Cory didn't know what was going on. I can't even begin to say how relieved we were to be on solid ground when that ride ended.www.youtube.com/watch?v=FXjMHiaYZ08

We spent the whole day doing Disneyland until it was finally time to head back to the rental place. We got a little lost finding the rental car place but still made it in plenty of time to get to the airport. We got to the check in 4 hours early but decided to see if we could check in early.  There was no line at the Air China counter.  We went up to the counter to find out that there was extreme fog in Beijing and that many flights were canceled. She told us that she would get us a flight for the next day. She filled out a hotel voucher and started to change our flights. Then she took back the hotel voucher and told us to hurry to the Korean Air counter and that we would get a flight from them. What a way to start a trip. We ran down to the Korean Air counter and they got us on the last flight for the night. Now we are going to Seoul Korea. That certainly wasn't part of the plan. And away we go!!!!!!!
