By the time that we got up we were already leaving Deception Island. We had arrived at around 8 this morning. They had gotten pretty close and checked out the penguin colonies. Not long after leaving the island we encountered heavy fog. Visibility was zero. The fog horn kept going off. It was eerie to peer out the windows into nothing with the sound of the mournful fog horn.

The poor visibility left for a pretty boring day on board. We headed up to Tequila's one of the nicer diner restaurants. During the day it is pretty empty. We played cards for hours before heading to the movie theater to see the afternoon movie. I wish that they had shown more movies on board. That was the one activity on board that I really enjoyed. In waters like the Antarctic the one indoor pool and hot tubs stayed full of people. Too many people for my taste.

I have a theory. Cruise ships are what the world is going to be like in 100 years. A lot of cranky people in a small area. I don't know if it is the overpopulation on a ship that makes them cranky or if you just notice the crankiness more because you are on top of one another. No matter with the world population doubling every 30 years we are in for a very crowded and uncomfortable future.

After a really lazy day at sea we started primping for diner. It is formal night. I nearly needed a shoe horn to get into my dress. It fit before we left but with all of the eating it was tight... Not to mention I was retaining water. My boobs were busting out of the dress. Though I was totally self conscious it was one of only 3 formal dresses that I had brought with me and we had 3 formal nights. I saved the stretchy black gown for the last formal night just in case I got bigger... There was a very good chance of that!

As we came into the dinning room we were greeted like Norm walking into Cheers. Everyone knows us. They were so attentive. Of course my dress seemed to cause quite a commotion. While we sat eating waiters from all over the dining room would come to the station right next to our table. They were so funny they would open the drawer but never get anything out of it. They wouldn't even close it as they left. We were having such a good time. Our table was being visited by 8 or 9 waiters and a few of the head waiters. The waiters were doing tricks for us and bringing us extra food.

We were right next to a table of eight. I guess that one of the women at that table was either a prude or jealous. They had two waiters for 8 people and we had 8 waiters for 4 people. Of course most of the tables had 2 waiters but because we were nice to the crew and loved to laugh and have a good time we were getting extra attention even from her waiters. As she left the dining room Paulie caught her talking to the head waiter and pointing at us while she complained. Paulie was pointing her out to us, so we know she knew what she had done. It is such a shame that people don't want to have a good time. We thought that by choosing such a late hour to eat that we were going to be around people that wanted to have a little better time... Guess not!!!!

The crew heard us talking about what had just happened and they tried to make us feel better. They kept telling us that they love having us at their table and that the woman was just an unhappy person that didn't like seeing anyone else have a good time. We didn't want to get our waiters in trouble so we hope that it was only us that she complained about.

After dinner we headed up to Skywalkers lounge. We had a blast visiting with the couple we met the first night at dinner, Roxi and Steve. They are from Oklahoma. They met in New York where Steve was from, fell in love and got married. They are so sweet. We have enjoyed spending time with them.
