Great (but long) flight from Hong Kong to Paris. Along the way had some incredible views of the Himalayas. Cruising at 32,000ft the mountains were only 5,000ft or so below us. Bizzarley the flight attendant COMMANDED (well it is Lufthansa) the passengers to close the window shades before the movies started. After an hour and no movie, I dared to open my shade to reveal the panorama of the mountains below us. The other passengers blithley carried on in the dark!

Very important tip: don't trust the destination airport's time displayed on the plane's monitor. We dutifully set our watches to Frankfurt time only to realise that we had missed our connecting flight to Paris by 1 hour.Thankfully we were able to hop on another flight an hour later and after a zombie like mini bus transfer, finally flopped onto our beds at the Bresil Opera Hotel.
By the way, thanks for all your comments, nice to know somebody's interested!
The next day we explored Paris, visiting the Louvre, checked out Gallerie Lafayette (think of Myer on steroids). Jane stocked up on some perfume, and we have almost mastered the Metro, thanks to some helpful Parisians. Our plan tonight is to do a pub crawl of our street before dinner.Bon Jour

It is hard mastering the Public transport system in another language when you are used to Cairns! Great photos!
