Feire de las flores is the festival of flowers and is one of the biggest week long parties that Medellin host.   Not wanting to miss a party of this magnitude.  Mattius and I decided to skip a National Park in order to make it to this event.  This fiesta was a week long party and we got there in time for the final weekend.   The festival is most noted for flowers that are carried on the backs of the peasants in a final grand parade.  Due to a massive amount of people we were not able to see any of this!.  The city is also known to have Colombia´s most beautiful women..... and by beautiful I mean boob jobs and cosmetic surgery.  I guess it´s super cheap in this city and everyone has money.

One parade we did manage to see was a 4 hour horse parade.   This parade was boring for the most part except for one particular thing.   The guys would make their horses trot all sorts of crazy ways... like double time, goose step, cross over  and much more .  This was impressive but what was truly  funny was how the crowd reacted when a women  would ride by.   Just image.....huge silicon boobs and the horse trotting double time..... her boobs were all over the shop! The crowd would go crazy and for good reason!

The rest of our time (Panama boat people) we went  to random street parties and meet local people.  One particular funny night involved me, Mattius and Anna.  We all had to pee... so Mattius and Anna went into some bushes while I peed just off the sidewalk.  Mattius ended up stepping in human poo and came out of the bushes with toilet paper and shit stuck to his sandal and Anna soaked her foot in a mud puddle of pee! Double whammy!   I laughed so hard I nearly peed and pood!.

I also discovered that I like a certain Colombian artist named Botero.  This guy is famous for doing paintings and sculptures of fat people.  As you can tell from the pictures, I was smitten and even though I was repulsed...I could not look away......

One last thing we went to Pablo Esobars grave.... Basically he is the godfather of Coke and Colombians most famous drug Cartel.    At the height of his empire, Escobar was estimated by Forbes magazine to be the seventh-richest man in the world, with his company Medellín Cartel controlling 80 percent of the cocaine market. It is estimated that the Medellín cartel was taking in up to $30 billion annually at its zenith. He worked hard to cultivate his Robin Hood image and frequently distributed money to the poor. He would also build houses for the poor, gaining followers on his way. The population of Medellín often helped Escobar by serving as lookouts, hiding information from the authorities, or doing whatever else they could do to protect him. When the U.S finally tracked him down  he offered to pay off Colombia's entire national debt to the tune of 12 billion dollars......  .
