One more person I had to visit before heading up to Denmark was an old German friend from university. We have kept in touch and now he is married!!! He actually just got married 2 weeks before we arrived. Oh and yes he has a lovely bride named Silke whom I have met before.
Silke and Marius were once again the greatest hosts. They fed us so much that we were almost unable to drink the glorious German beer. We spent checked out the town of Mainz and caught up with Marius and Silkes´ life. It was a great break from a previous hectic constant travel schedules. I went for a really nice bike ride along the Rhine, which by the way is a really beautiful river that flows through the middle of Germany. Castles and quaint little German towns line the banks. It reminded me that when I was here last I was going to try and look into floating the entire river in one summer. If anybody wants to come along let me know because this would be a blast! Chelise watched as many episodes of Friends as she could in a row while I was gone.
Marius works for a German TV station as a film editor and he needed some really beautiful & talented actors to be filmed driving a convertible mini for a small segment in a German news program. Naturally Chelise and I fitted the bill and if you were watching German TV last Saturday you would have saw our debut appearances (actually I (Chelise) have been on TV before)). On our final night in town, Marius and Silke took us to the Rhine for a picnic. Once again they stuffed us with delicious rich German food! Then we hit a couple of bars after that where the urinals were lined with nudie pictures!! (I (Chelise) regret to say that the girls´ loos were not equally adorned with pretty pictures.))
