(This is Ben) Ahhhh Dalat...... Well this place was some what of a bust. The guide book paints a picture of a quaint, mountain town. A place to escape the hustle and bustle and the insane heat. Well it was right about the heat. This place was cold and wet the entire time we were there. The main activity here is to rent a scooter or a scooter driver (called the easy riders) and check out various waterfalls, pagodas, and towns. Sounds easy enough except for the enless amounts of rain....Determined not to waste my day here sitting indoors and staying warm (like Chelise) Nir and I decided to brave the elements and see the sites on our own scooter. So for the entire day, we drove around the mountains in the pouring rain and trying not to die from the crazy way people drive here. Since I'm shit with directions I was the driver, while the Jew who is good at navigation rode bitch (he is also good at math and handling money....how's that for your sterotype). The sites were all pretty medicore and not really worth telling you about but it did fill up an entire day. The high point of the day was parking under a tree during a sever rainstrom and finding I was in range of a leashed monkey. This was exciting because leashed monkeys are so bored that if you come within their range they will happily jump on you and bite and pull your hair. So as quick as I could I got out the range of the mad monkey with out being attacked. The ladies there told me that he would have bit me, despite me being such a monkey lover.....(that's a reference to Laos when I had a very special monkey friend). At the end we were sick of being cold and wet and all I could think about was getting back to the sun. I think I may be a bit spoiled though becuase after spending time in Laos' highlands and Sappa in Veitnam this place did not really compare. Anyway you can see from the pictures nothing to spectacular was going on and we were glad to leave and get back to warmer weather. Oh yeah... Chelise has decided that she hates the rain so she spent the entire day inside, writing and watching movies. This is why I'm writing this and I don't care if I spell everything incorretly fruenlaben! (Chelise - He does make a lot of mistakes, but that's why I am here - to make sure it looks pretty.)
