Penis Cave, Frisbee, Muddy caves and More!

When we checked into our great room in a hotel in Krabi we found out we'd been put next to Allison and Erin who'd left the day before. Of all the hotels in all the streets....our mission was to check out the Princess Caves and a lagoon down on Raleigh. Krabi is really pretty with jungle covered limestone rocks, jutting out of the land. It's a rock climber's paradise! We found the 1st Princess Cave which served as a place fishermen go to make a fertility offering in the form of a wooden penis. Now the Tsunami had washed them all away so they've been collected up and placed in a pile - so essentially we saw a pile of giant, wooden penises (or is that Peni.)

Some naughty monkeys stole fruit from vendors on the beach and then they hissed aggressively at us when we tried to take photos of them.

Next was the hike to the lagoon on the other side of one of the cliffs. We read you needed climbing gear to do parts of it and laughed it off. The 'hike' was more of a slippery climb as the cliff was covered in red clay that soon adhered to the soles of our shoes and made their grip useless. There was a rope all the way up and down that we used once or twice. Soon we were covered in clay. The climb got sketchy when we actually had to rock climb down a couple of vertical cliffs. I was terrified, but with the help of Ben talking me down and the fact that there were lots of good foot and hand holes I made it down ok. By the time we got down to the lagoon I was shaking, but proud as I am scared of heights. The 2nd Princess Cave was full of stalagtites and mites. One particular rock was dotted with quartz and was beautiful and sparkly.

That night we still managed to drag ourselves around the night market which is the cheapest place to get food in every town. We hit a couple of bars and played bar games while listening to Rage Against The Machine
