The wake up call was at 07:30, what kind of holiday is this!!!

I made two lectures today, one on geology and the other on penguins.

Today we had our first landing on the peninsular.
I bundled up and climbed into a zodiac which quickly took me from the boat to the landing at Half Moon Island.

There were penguins right there on the shore.  The penguins on the shore (we had to avoid when we got out) were Gentoo Penguin.

I walked up to the rookery to see the Chinstrap penguins.  Penguins Smell  !!!!!!!  We were allowed to walk near the penguins.

If you sat still they even come up to you.

There were also six Weddel seals basing in the sun.  (like giant slugs)  It quite strange getting close to wild animals.  But they don't really care about the funny yellow penguins (all our coats are yellow)

I learnt the hard way to stay on the path, and as I left it I was in snow up to my knees.

After a fun viewing I was sitting minding my own business when I was attacked by two Pale-Faced Sheathbill.  I know they eat anything, but I didn't think that extended to Conrads.
