We left Prague on Saturday morning for Vienna, Austria.  The train was very clean, modern, inexpensive, and provided beautiful views of the countryside.  The only downside was the man sitting in our carriage with the worst body odor imaginable.  But we learned to breathe through our noses and all was well.

When we arrived in Austria, it was a beautiful, sunny day that elevated our moods immediately.  People were very friendly, which was also a nice change from Prague (they weren't so nice to us there, plus Connie got a lot of stares).  We walked around the hotel and found this busy outdoor market where they were selling all sorts of cool stuff.  We got a little too excited about lunch--we hadn't eaten all day--and ended up buying $40 worth of olives, cheese, dips, bread, etc. at one of the little stands.  But then we want to another stand so that Connie could buy fruit and when Connie tried to buy the a blood orange, the nice man gave it to her for free

The next day, we set off in a tshirt and our sunglasses only to realize that it was back to being cold and rainy.  :(  So we bundled back up and headed off to the city square to see the sites.  It was Palm Sunday, so St. Stephen's Church was extra busy.  There was a Tibetan demonstration in the main square in response to the recent violence in Tibet, which was very interesting to see.   We spent the best part of the day hitting the tourist spots and that night went to a fantastic Italian restaurant for dinner.  I must admit that between the German beer, the Vietnamese lunch, and the Italian dinner, we didn't really experience the local Austrian cuisine, but how much sausage are we really expected to eat?  Next stop: Ljubljana, Slovenia.

PS: You may notice that the entries are getting longer and the titles of each entry is changing a little bit.  Jeremy said my blogs were boring, so I'm experimenting with new things.
