We took our first flight to Atlanta (it was an interesting project to take everyone through security with boarding passes and passports). Not a bad flight. The kids slept mostly. Not me. Just more awake time.
Then we had nearly 5 hours in the Atlanta airport. Time to eat. They love Chinese food. So, it was food court time. Lots of it. We spent a long time at the food court
Then, time to board our international flight for Peru. Finally. They just HAD to walk us through Business Class, then something called Comfort Coach Class, back to Sardine Class. Oh my goodness. Those seats did not recline one little bit. Straight up and down. I finally fell asleep for a while, woke up and my neck hurts like crazy. I was dreaming of being in Business Class. They have huge leg room, amenities, reclining seats! And I am small, yet sitting in a space barely big enough for me. Straight up! Next to a tiny Japanese couple (in the center row, but at least I have an aisle). Those two people next to me have not moved a muscle in hours. How do they do that? And they have not spoken one word to each other. Amazing! Anyway, I don't know when I've been so uncomfortable. But, I'm not in Lima yet. I don't know what the accommodations are there. So, uncomfortable might be my middle name for the next couple of days.
Kids are spread all over the place, but I can hear voices loud and clear
The iPad has no power. The plane has no movies. Only streaming TV, on the station of their choice. I have one magazine, but my head hurts. I'm hungry. Guess it's time to take a walk, talk to the "flight attendants", and see what I can muster.
It's nearly 8 p.m. in Peru. For those of you reading this, Peru is on Central Standard Time, or 2 hours ahead of the west coast. So, we still have another 3-4 hours on the plane. I'll write more tomorrow, when I am not cramped, grumpy and have more than 12% power on my iPad. Oh yes, no WiFi either. This is a truly wonderful flight!
Until tomorrow. . . Connie (Mom)
