Met up with Adam & Liz again and had a monster pool night with an Asian Rock Band who played alot of Irish songs in Tropical Murphys. Headed to a beach the other side of the island and apart from the lady selling cheap dresses there wasnt much about it. A bit dirty, crowded, noisy and the sea was full of floaty stuff. Bit mingin. Beach beside us a bit better but not much - 45 million speedo's and massage being offered by everyone. Although one woman asked Carol about massage and pedicure and she saw her sunburn and her mozi bites etc. She brought Carol over some magic green cream kinda like tiger balm and rubbed it all over her bites. Then as we were chatting she came back again and broke off a branch of Aloe Vera and as we sat chatting the woman put fresh aloe vera all over carols sunburn! We bought the green stuff off her and it did help. She was a nice lady.
Ko Samui is probably one of the more expensive islands as the girls went shopping and they are not willing to bargain at all. They have the same stuff as in Bangkok so we didnt mind waiting. We dragged the lads to a Ladyboy show after much protesting. Conor left after about ten minutes and two bottles of beer and Tony followed soon after. We stayed till pretty much the end and it was all about giant flamboyant costumes and miming to Kylie, Britney, Tina Turner, Madonna etc. It wasnt like the one in Chang Mai where there was more stripping than singing and more legging splitting bulges than dance routines as we explained to the lads but they still insisted that listening to she-men miming was not their thing! Strange!
Another late night on the town and me and sis we're off to try out the brand new mahogony beds with giant thick mattresses and the lads stayed out till dawn. They ended up playing a gang of ladyboys at pool (ironically). Tony reckons they were the ones that didnt get any 'bookings' that night and were left to hang around the bars. The lads can tell you better themselves about how and where snooker cues went and the one liners that were thrown back and forth between each other...funny stuff. Thankfully they didnt come home with lipstick on their collars ;)
The end of the island hopping for south Thailand and back up towards Bangkok for shopping and madness...
