The train was very comfortable and Conor fell asleep almost instantly. We didnt really get to see alot out of the windows because the terrain of the land isnt great, its just dusty and bare. There were a few fields with sparse amounts of grass growing on it with loads of sheep all mooching around looking for food. We did however get to see a few cream crackers nearly kicking the heads off each other and nearly getting kicked off the train. Ye that was interesting!
The train had a cafe cart so you could walk up and down all the carriages which kinda passed the time but it was a long 12 hours I have to say. We arrived in Melbourne just after 7pm and yes you've guessed it, it was kinda cold 16 degrees and it had been raining! I really think the weather is following us and I fear my postcard beach is going to be washed away by the time I finally get to step on it in Asia!!
Went out with Aido (conors old work colleague from Home) on a bar crawl around some of the trendy spots an had a good larf with him and his mates.
Liz and Adam got to Melbourne on the Saturday morning and we went to the skydeck building to view melbourne from high above. After that we spent the rest of the time with them eating and drinking although Conor did manage to get two haircus in the one day, which must be a record. The first hairdresser just threw some hair on the gond it seemed and with some clever gel effects made it appear she had cut some hair when clearly she hadn't. BUt eventually he got it chopped right back to normal and nor longer has the crusty look after 5 months of growth. Booooo.
Melbourne's a cool city. Nicest city we've seen in Oz.
