There was a ridiculous amount of flooding on the way to Rockhampton. At one bridge over a river the water was a foot away from coming over the top and sinking the road. We crossed that one with care. Farms and fields left and right of us were under water and when we got to Rockhampton the tent sites were much the same. So again we rented a Holiday Villa for the night. Honestly, we really are backpackers but in certain times of need one must do what one can. There just seems to be no end to this weather and we're running out of time. We've already missed out on Fraser Island and many other places because of it so we're just hoping in vain at this stage that some miracle will happen and the sun will shine by the time we arrive in Airlie Beach for the great barrier reef.
We spent the night teaching and playing drinking games with Adam and Liz until we all fell into bed late enough. It rained and blew all night...
