Windy Wellington, Capital City.

The city itself was nice. Loads of nice shops and cafes etc but nothing much else to do. We went up the gondola to the skyview over the city and that was about as exciting as Wellington gets. I'm sure there's more to the place but we only came here to get the ferry the next day to Picton on the south Island.
The windiest place ever. When we got here just putting up the tent was hard with the wind almost lifiting us off the ground, tent in hand. The campsite was across the bay from the city about 10 km from the centre. It didn't really matter cause we were here on a Wednesday which in New Zealand terms means a quiet night. They really don't seem to go out here other than Saturday nights even in the big cities and during the height of Summer. If Ireland got half this nice weather we'd be full up with booze on the beaches rolling around like whales all day. The sick days would increase twice fold easily.
