After a light breakfast we drove into Cavendish to the Anne of Green Gables Home. It is just a couple hundred yards from the main stop light in town but with a few planted and grazing acres it was a very pastoral setting.  It's a storybook Victorian house.  The original house was built in 1850, a second section added to the first floor in 1870 and the second floor added in 1910.  The pictures describe it better than I can.

We met Anne and Don at the Confederation Theatre in Charlottetown to attend the 2 pm performance or "Anne of Green Gables, the Musical."  We had excellent seats and it was a delightful musical.  It was the last day of the Canadian Summer Games in Charlottetown, but in spite of the traffic and the rain from approaching Danny, we managed to find a lobster house for dinner.  We enjoyed sharing stories about our families, churches, musical activities, etc for the remainder of the day.

We went on a family vacation in 1986. Brooks was 2 years old. One of the places we visited was PEI. We were there just after Labor Day. I loved the terrain - windswept, stubby trees. The Canadian dollar exchange rate was very favorable and we ate lots of lobster. There were lobster restaurants in churches, which I thought odd. We went to Green Gables too, but I don't remember much about it.
