We enjoy sleeping to the rocking and rolling motion of a ship, but gusty winds were causing turbulent waters. Our ship was built for cargo not people.  It lacks stabilizers, so we were jarred awake several times by disruptive bounces.  When we awoke and looked at the time, it was 7 a.m.  Tom checked on the arrival time and was told it would be 11 a.m.  So we had plenty of leisure for dressing, packing and getting breakfast.

After I met Pat and her beautiful Newfoundland dogs in Bay Bulls, I decided it was time I got another dog.  So I found a beautiful black Newfoundland and named him Paddy, after one of Pat's dogs.  I also thought Seashell might like to have a travelling companion.  She was intimidated at first but now she just ignores him most of the time.

After disembarking from our ferry, we drove through Cape Breton and into Antigonish for lunch.  We had enjoyed our meal there on the way up and have been fascinated by the name of the town.  We called it "An-tig-ah-nish" until the Irish comedian in Newfoundland made a joke of the name. The Canadians pronounce it “annie-go-neesh.  Seashell and Paddy made their public debut there.  You will need to double-click the picture at the Maritime Inn to see Paddy very well.

From there drove to Caribou to take another ferry to Wood Islands, Prince Edward Island, and then through Charlottetown to Cavendish for the night.  When we got here, we were so happy to find our friends, Myra Ann and Don Nagel.  After a little visit we went to bed very tired from being on the road, so to speak, for 32 hours.
