I called Michelle to tell her where I was, and she threatened to take a bus to get to me since she was not a fan of delayed gratification. I assured her I needed to sleep, and that's what I did. I got up early to take pictures of Binghamton's County Buildings. They were impressive. There are a lot of statues to commemorate wars and veterans and Christopher Columbus. Garden landscaping with guns and cannon balls was particularly effective.
The drive through the Allegany Mountains had been spectacular
There was a wrecked car at the rest stop with two guys sleeping in it. I moved my car away from them when the tow truck arrived. I heard some choice blue language as the two young men were dressed down by their boss who was yelling about destroying a company car. I got a map of New York which I figured would be good because I would soon be looking for Hurleyville which wasn't on my other maps.
I got other brochures so Kathleen and I could design a trip in the future. It is just so darn pretty on this side of New York. I passed Jamestown without stopping at the Lucy and Desi museum. Who knew Lucille Ball came from a town in New York called Jamestown and that I would pass by it?
