Doug, of one thing I am sure, the USA does not have good Internet connectivity. Wi-fi is pretty good largely because the cell phone providers' coverage outside of the major metropolitan areas is shite. As travelers exploring the great outdoors we have searched for the largest and biggest tree without the pleasure of google or google maps. Having purchased as much international calls to landlines as we want, it has been frustrating not to be able to stay in touch.

In Sequoia we saw the biggest tree by volume, here we saw the tallest. 100 meters tall. If you were Usain Bolt how long would it take you to sprint that distance? They actually hide the identity of the tallest as the great adventurers take the challenge to climb them.

Each tree drinks 500 gallons of water each day, and most comes not from the ground. So you can imagine the fog up in this part of the world.

I am waiting for Lara's synopsis of 'camping in California' and will hold back from sharing the pro's and cons, goods and bads, in inarticulate engineering speak.
